Levy payers are at the heart of everything we do, so it’s only right that we give you a greater voice in how we spend your levy.
In April 2022, you’ll get to have your say on the challenges you want AHDB to focus on and the services we will deliver for you in the future. It’s your chance to influence how your levy is spent on the things that matter to you most.
Each eligible business gets one vote per sector provided they meet the following criteria in the 12-months up to 11 April 2022:
- Cereals & Oilseeds: Any business that paid a cereal buyer levy, a cereal processor levy, the cereal grower levy or the oilseed grower levy in the UK
- Beef, lamb and pork: Any farmer that kept pigs, sheep or cattle in England, any processor that slaughtered pigs, sheep or cattle in England, or any exporter that purchased pigs, sheep or cattle in England for export
- Dairy: Any milk producer in Great Britain
If you operate in multiple sectors, you get one vote per sector that you operate in. Please register separately for beef and lamb.

There are a lot of mixed messages in the media around food and nutrition, meaning it’s easy to get confused. That's why we're focused on the reputation of farmers, growers and the industry as a whole. One of our core priorities is reminding and reassuring consumers that our produce is nutritionally beneficial and high quality. And we're also encouraging more commitment to the progress and adaptations required on farm to create a profitable and environmentally sustainable industry, able to make bold, proud reputational claims.
Domestic and international markets
You may have seen our We Eat Balanced campaign on national television or on social media channels, helping to promote a balanced approach to a healthy diet. We work to create a strong market for your products by developing and maintaining domestic and overseas markets and helping you give the customer what they want and enjoy. That's why we invest over £19m in marketing and export development every year.
Improving performance, profitability and costs
We're committed to bringing data, insight and analysis together in an easy-to-use format to help farmers, growers and supply chains make better business decisions. Programmes of work such as Market Insight, Farm Business Review, The Recommended Lists and Farmbench are already helping farmers and growers make evidence-based decisions to help them make their businesses more resilient and fit for the future.
